Swiss
born, John Schnurrenberger grew up with an admiration for the cowboy,
and a love for the Western lifestyle. He was greatly influenced by his
grandfather, one of Switzerland's last stage coach drivers.
After attending art school in Lucerne, Schnurrenberger immigrated to
Canada in 1965 to pursue his dream of experiencing and painting the
western life. Currently, he resides with his wife Antje on an acreage
in the interior of British Columbia. The landscape of this region has,
and will continue to inspire this talented artist. A full time
artist of many years, John still cowboys every chance he gets. He
attributes these experiences as essential to maintaining the integrity,
authenticity, and mood of his work.
