"Autumn Filigree"
by David Ward
Silvery light bathes the quiet garden as
a solitary warbler emerges from the hedgerow - pausing on a bow of the
old spruce for a few fleeting moments before heading, once again, on its
way. The bustle of summer is drawing to a close and the tasks at hand
wait, half done, as the leaves continue to fall. Beneath the shifting
and unsettled skies a delicate autumn filigree emerges.
