“I found this old abandoned house on one of my many trips into our Alberta countryside. I thought “if only walls could talk, there would be some interesting stories that could be told about those who had lived here.” The owners were probably farmers who had decided to build a new home and so had left the old one. I’m so glad they left it standing—it became an interesting subject for me to paint.” – Elsie Baer
