David Carr
|
David Carr studied at the Slade School of Fine Art in the 1960’s, where he was a prizewinning student, followed by a David Murray Scholarship awarded by the Royal Academy, a Boise Scholarship from University College London and a period at the British School at Rome.
He was elected a Member Of The London Group in 1987 having exhibited with them since 1965 as well as with the Royal Academy.
He showed in all the major group shows including: The Hunting Group, Laing Singer & Friedlander, and Cleveland Drawing Biennale (Prizewinner).
His works are in public and private collections in the UK, USA and Far East; notably University College London, Cleveland Council, London Heritage Northern Arts, Ford Motors, The Methodist Church, among others.
David Carr died on the 25th October 2009 after a long battle with cancer.
