Artwork Description
Tigers are amazing and their colour would make you think that they would be easy to spot. However, most prey animals are colour blind, and the orange and black stripes mimic the positive and negative spaces between grass and other plant life in the habitat. So the tigers just blend in. Sort of hidden in plain sight! With us we see the different colours, but our eyes fool us as well when the tiger is sliding through the bush, the orange mimics dead plants, and the positive and negative spaces between the plants. Deer here at home are a bright orange brown, but blend right into the bush in the same fashion.
