I've just emailed a prospect looking for an appraisal, He sent a photo, and here were the additional questions I asked. This should help create a form to deal more automatically with appraisals coming in: can you also send the artwork size and the framed size, a close up of the signature and a photo of the back of the artwork.
- where and when was the artwork purchased? (or obtained from) / history of the painting
- anything else you might know about the artwork
- reason for the appraisal? Insurance or Fair Market Value? Other?
