I love the simple beauty of the white poplars or often called trembling aspens. They are so straight and bright and almost human as they cluster together. And I never tire of trying to capture the elegance of their white trunks gilded with cool shadows and reflected lights and smothered by clouds of dancing leaves. So often we only appreciate the aspens only in autumn, but spring is the time when those yellow-green leaves burst forth and explode in new life. For an artist, it doesn’t get much better than that.
Interestingly, this is the first time that I’ve painted “spring” for the Miniature Show.
