Artwork Description
Banff has its golden larches; Jasper has the aspen ridge between Pyramid and Patricia Lakes north of town. In autumn their colors take your breath away. But we often forget the knurled, old, stunted aspens along the shores of Medicine Lake. They’ve weathered many punishing winters and frequent flooding in spring, and they’ve survived. And somehow they never fail to parade their mottled, animal-chewed limbs and striking fall beauty every September for those lucky enough to travel that way, or better yet, get out of their vehicles and stroll amongst them.
