April 28th. 1944. Lt. Bob ‘Punchy’ Powell in “THE WEST BY GAWD VIRGINIAN” and squadron mates, attack a German airfield at Herbeville, France. His wingman, Lt. Jamie Laing, was shot down and taken prisoner.
