Artwork Description
“Being not far from my home, I have taken several photos of his old log barn over a span of about 15 years in hopes of someday painting it. From examining the hand-hewed logs it was obvious that it was well over 150 years old and probably built from the local timber that had been taken during clearing the land about the time the farm was established. I may tweak my paintings a little for artistic flair, but always enjoy trying to maintain a certain amount of accuracy in details preserving an actual account of the history of the scene I’m painting. I have noticed the deterioration speed up in the latest years on this old barn and I wanted to preserve it now.”
