“When I was working at La Selva Biological Station in Costa Rica, Keel-billed Toucans were one of the most conspicuous and engaging residents of the adjacent forest. Although I’m best known for extremely detailed paintings, sometimes I enjoy playing around with simple blobs of color, which give the piece the feeling of dappled forest light.”
