Morning Calm – Pintail
“One of my favorite activities is traveling on water, preferably slowly and quietly, canoe would be best. If the water is calm, one has the disembodied feeling – floating yet moving. What fascinates me is the enhanced sense of three dimensions as one watches closer objects moving against the various layers of the background. I can gaze on this endlessly, especially when moving through nature. Unlike most people, my taste turns to mist.
Perhaps this is because of the increased illusion of depth and atmosphere. This scene shows a simple, quiet moment, unspectacular and ordinary but magical in its own way. I emphasized the tranquility by adding a single male pintail, floating and dozing.”
