Artwork Description

The trail to Cirque and Chephren Lakes is quiet, long, closed in and root covered, not particularly a friendly one. But it does have its beautiful side, with the light filtering through the stately spruce trees and blind corners that require you to be totally aware of what you are doing and what’s around the bend. And the cerulean blue lake at the end of the hike is a thing to behold; it’s a spectacular place to have a picnic and enjoy the massive rock wall across the lake. It’s definitely an unforgettable day-long trip, especially if you include the remote Cirque Lake as well.
Trails are such a beautiful symbols of our journey on this earth—-full of surprises and destinations. The first time over a trail is like finding a treasure. And often the treasure is the satisfaction of seeing one more jewel in this beautiful place we call Canada. Not all trails are worth taking more than once, but this one is; and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to go “far from the madding crowd.”
