Anyone who’s followed my artwork is probably aware that I love painting portraits, which is what drew me to painting to begin with. I credit Bob Gerbracht… a fabulous artist and my first instructor… with honing whatever latent skill I had at the time. One of my favorite subjects is musician Shaka Antonio. Although I lost touch with Shaka years ago, I treasure and rely on the many photos I have of him, which allow me to continue to paint his extraordinarily expressive face. Jamaican Blues is the most recent.
