Resting on the dock, I feel the warmth of the sun as it gradually erases my cluttered thoughts. A small boat floats alongside, tethered, safe to drift, as it rocks with the gentle wind. Resting, not straining, secure to bask, to reflect, to restore, in the cool blue water. In the moment I rejoice in rest, refreshing me and diverting my attention from life’s storms and allowing me to be still enough to see the clear reflection that is only visible in the warm embrace of a safe harbour.
