“The photo I worked from was taken on the Columbia II – a vessel I was teaching a workshop on in the San Juan Islands. I started it as a demonstration piece (as it was a fearfully rainy day) for the seven students to keep them occupied – had intended to get them to work on a small similar piece, but I was requested to finish it …. So I did.”
