Artwork Description

This scene takes place during the second Geronimo Campaign, which ended in 1886. General Crook, who was in command, used Apache Indians as scouts to search out hostile Apaches and induce them to surrender. This painting shows two scouts in advance of the column searching through adobe ruins for some clue as to the whereabouts of the renegades.
