As the two girls in “Shelter for the Heart” stand together in a downpour, they are perhaps able to see the beauty in a rainy day for the first time without fear. Helped by the shelter of an unbrella and the comfort of a friend comes the knowledge that there will always be sunshine after the rain. It’s metaphor for hope in daily lessons. Often the simple steps we have already learned can be applied to other, seemingly more difficult events in our lives.
