#311 C130E Lochheed Hercules of 435 of 435 Transport Squadron, Namao Alberta, turns gracefully somewhere over northern Canada. 435 conducts long – range (tactical) airlifts, short range (tactical) airlifts, and Search and Rescue (SAR) missions, using both the E and H models. The squadron provided strategic airlift support during the Golf War to Canadian personnel stationed in Qatar and Bahrain. These aircraft have also been to assist the United nations in providing relief to Ethiopia

This is the interior of the College of Magical Knowledge, warmed up by carpets. These are not dwarves with names. These are simply Fellowes of the College and we have been allowed to go backstage and see them get ready for the day. Part of the humor of the piece is that all the multiple layers are part of the same garment. The outfits are prefabricated to some extent, like theatrical costumes. Although they’re pretending that it’s all “oh, ho-hum, time to get dressed,” they’re pretty caught up in what they’re doing – despite the look of disorganization. This is actually serious business.

"I was recalling those snowy nights in Lapland when my creative spirit soared! Being “snowed in” meant food for my soul and life on the outside world was pleasantly unreachable. I have been blessed by such nights at our cottage and it seemed only fitting that I should pay tribute to those treasured times in a painting.
