The Indian Roller is very much like its African cousin although without the bright lilac colored breast. Found throughout India, they possess a wonderful palette for an oil painter. In this work the arrangement of the branches and dead leaves add wonderful synergy to the entire work. Even though they are about to fall to the ground, the leaves stand as testaments that all their needs were met this season – which is not true for many living things in India.
